Noah Warrick

Age: 8

Diagnosis: Rasmussen's Syndrome

Noah is the eight year old son of Brian and Laura Warrick and a second grader at Harrells Christian Academy.  Noah has been diagnosed with Rasmussen's Syndrome.  Rasmussen's Syndrome is a form of encephalitis that is a rare, progressive, and degenerative auto-immune disease that affects the tissue in the brain.  There have been less that 50 diagnosed cases in the world within the last 40 years.  As the disease progresses, it becomes more difficult to control seizures, and eventually mental and physical handicaps develop.  Although there are some treatments that may help with symptoms and slow the progression of the disease, the only proven effective treatment is radical brain surgery, which can also cause long recovery period and leave lasting mental and physical effects.

As everyone struggles to understand this rare condition and why it is affecting such a wonderful young boy, we must look to Noah's example of faith and wisdom to bring us through this.  With that, we need your prayers and support.
